Top 5 Apps for Futureboarders

Updated: Feb 16, 2022

At Futureboard, we love tech, content and experiences that make our lives easier, more meaningful and align with our purpose to create #positiveforwardmomentum. Here are 5 Apps that we are enjoying right now.

Futureboard is more than about work, it is about how we choose to operate in the world from a place of awareness, confidence and alignment. While we look forward to sharing loads more tech and content on the tools, platforms and programmes to help innovate, create and transform - these 5 are to help create space in your day, strength in your step and to feel like maybe - maybe we can remember where things are.

Stocard

“Do you enjoy getting money back, paying less or receiving bonus gifts or comps? Many loyalty programmes have surpassed their 2010's cumbersome phase and have really hit their stride in the 20's. Thank you e-commerce! And how great it is to invest in something that invests right back in you."

Every loyalty programme comes with either a physical card, a digital password or both. Then you get to your nearest Spar, Checkers, Woolies, Clicks, Pick n Pay... and while you finally remembered to bring the shopper bags, your loyalty card is at home in a box with the 20 others. While not all stores have the technology yet to accept the digital version of their loyalty card - 99% of them do, and what a difference it makes. Seeing someone pull out a loyalty card from a bulging real-world wallet seems like a struggle that can be avoided and we prefer to transcend struggle where we can. You have a few digital options - we use stocard, and have rarely lost out on a loyalty point since.

Speedtest

“Is it not enough to invest in wifi", a UPS and a generator - perhaps even solar panels to take you off-the-grid - only to experience slow-down and not know which source is generating the chug..."

Uploading content or just trying to make a call over wifi when the glitches swoop in and we wonder if other family member (work from home much?), colleague or fellow coffee shop drinker has swiped what is rightfully ours. Hit GO on Speedtest by Ookla and all will be revealed. Once you know what the problem is ..it's probably time to call The Provider.

Studio

Like Dale Carnegie said - do you agree that hearing your name is the sweetest, most important sound in any language? Yes, the science is in on the release of our feel good hormones (such as dopamine and serotonin) in response to our name, creating an energy force of empathy, trust and compassion to the unconscious brain.

DIY creative and content planning allows many of us to create while on the move, and while Canva often takes top spot, Studio is simple to use - not only for work, but for your own celebration, condolence with care or congratulation messages. While we all love tenor and giphy, creating your own personlised messaging for the small and big moments really takes the cake - especially a cake with their name on it!

GLO

How did you find that call at 12:30pm after 2 cortado's and skipping breakfast, especially after 3 x 30 min online VC calls back-to-back where in the last call the organiser was 10 minutes late (guilty as charged!) and still wanted to keep the 30 min plan....

There are a ton of health and wellness apps to support our wellbeing and centred selves. What we love about GLO, is that you can filter for as low as 5 minutes or 10 minutes, at any time of day for mediations, yoga, pilates and more. It is not free with a $24 per month subscription - friend giveaways and daily fresh content make it worth while. Gustavo Padron a favourite.

Spotify

Hey Google....

An ol' favourite, with their kicking off as far back as 2006 (no instagram for 4 years yet) one might not think to include it here - however with the rise of voice automation and smart home devices - setting up your Spotify playlists, podcasts and favourites fills the home/office/car with less skip-skip-skip and more repeat-repeat-repeat. Discovering new playlists from around the world when Google Home misunderstands your request, is also worth the download.

We'd love to hear about your favourite apps and will share the top 5 in a post later in March - email admin@futureboard.online today.

And in the meantime, #positiveforwardmomentum from the team at Futureboard
